“Be social, be active”

On October 15 – 22, 2016 NGO “Chernihiv European” took part in the project “Be social, be active”, organized by the Polish Foundation “Aktywni w Europie” with the financing of the Polish-Ukrainian youth exchange. The young participants were students of Chernihiv (Ukraine) and Poland.

The aim of the project was to strengthen intercultural dialogue by enhancing openness and tolerance among young people, support and growth of active civil position, motivation to actively participate in the elections, the expansion of knowledge in the field of democracy, human rights and freedoms, as well as the expansion of knowledge about the rules and principles of functioning of authorities at local, national, state and European level.

During the project, participants met with the mayor of Wisla – Tomasz Bujok, and members of the City Council during a meeting of the Commission on advertising, tourism, culture and sports. In addition, there was a meeting with students of the Lyceum named after Pawła Stalmacha, where debated on the topic – “Participation in the elections” and on active participation of citizens in public life.
